Solid Oak Display Shelf

This shelf is made of 3/4" thick Red Oak and measures 36-1/2" high, 30" wide and 7-1/2" deep overall. The three adjustable shelves are 6" deep and 27" wide. Five Oak Shaker Pegs provide a place for hanging keys, coats or in the case of my friend, dog leashes.

	The wood for this shelf began as 4/4 (1" thick) rough lumber. I ran it through my planer to get it down to the 3/4" thickness. The rounded cutouts on the Corners compliment the 1/2" cove details routed on the Top and Lower boards. A 1/4" Oak laminated MDF board finished off the back side of the shelf.

	This picture shows a closer view of the shelves. I routed a pocket under each shelf to receive the shelf pins. The pockets on the shelves ensure they stay in place.
